Vivai Fratelli Dainese cultivates and sells many plum tree varieties for both retail and wholesale at the nursery in Saonara (easy to reach from Padua and Venice). Go to the page below for a list of all the varieties and characteristics of the plum trees available.

Varieties of plum tree

Rounded fruit, a bit conic at the top, solid skin of light yellow color, transparent, bloomy. Pulp has a white-yellowish color, very squashy, juicy and sugary. Pollinator: Shiro and Santa Rosa.

Ripens end of June.

Large fruit, of a nice color; yellow pulp, exquisite. _S. Rosa and Regina Claudia yellow.

Ripens in mid-July.

Old variety still present locally, it has many positive qualities. Fruits are of an amber-yellow-greenish color and have an inimitable taste. Pollinator: Stanley and Sangue di Drago.

Ripens mid-July.

Large and productive plant, with large fruits of a greenish color. Yellowish pulp. Pollinator: S. Rosa and Stanley.

Ripens early August.

Beautiful plum from California. The big fruits are very attractive and particularly requested in all European markets. Pollinator: Sorriso di Primavera and Mirabolano rosso.

Ripens early July.

Sino-Japanese variety of plum, Russia native (Crimea). Large tree, good looking and very productive, gives fruits of great quality, very attractive and of an intense red-purple color.

Ripens mid-July.

Large and rounded fruit, dark purple color almost black, excellent pulp. Pollinator: Sorriso di Primavera and Mirabolano red.

Ripens starting July 10th.

Large fruits of a nice wine color. Very productive._Sorriso di Primavera and Mirabolano rosso.

Ripens second week of July.

Japanese variety with a round and very large fruit. Red skin with purplish tones. Light yellow pulp. Pollinator: Sorriso di Primavera and Santa Rosa.

Ripens from the middle to the end of July.

Large fruit, crimson purple color, blood pulp. Pollinator: Sorriso di Primavera and Sangue di Drago.

Ripens mid-July.

Sino-Japanese variety. Beautiful fruits, of good size and a unique blood coloring of the pulp. Pollinator: Shiro and Sorriso di Primavera.

Ripens first 10 days of August.

Medium sized fruits of a purplish color, yellow-greenish pulp. Good for immediate consumption or dry preserved. Pollinator: Stanley and Sorriso di Primavera.

Fruits ripens end of August.

Fruits have an intense blu skin, dense and flavorful pulp, very good. Pollinator: Bluefre and President.

Ripens end of August.

Semi-oval fruits. Red-brownish and waxy skin. Yellow-greenish pulp, crunchy, acidic and sugary at the same time, excellent flavor, pulp slightly detached from kernel. Pollinator: Sorriso di Primavera and Mirabolano rosso.

Ripens early July.

European type of plum native from California from unknown genealogy. Medium size tree, produces fruits of a great size and high value among the fruits of its kind (excellent look and flavor). Pollinator: Sorriso di Primavera and Mirabolano rosso.

Ripens the last 10 days of July.

Oval fruits of a red-purplish color. Very pleasant. Pollinator: Sorriso di Primavera and Mirabolano rosso.

Ripens end of July to early August.

Large fruits of an intense blue color. Yellow pulp, with a very pleasant flavor, it detaches completely from the kernel. Pollinator: President and Stanley.

Ripens the last 10 days of August.

Native from America, with large fruits, round-oval shaped, it has a nice red-purplish color. Yellow-greenish pulp, sugary and with a very pleasant flavor, detached from kernel. Pollinator: Stanley and Regina Claudia gialla.

Ripens from late August to early September.

Highly productive variety, of American origin. Oval fruits with purple skin and yellow pulp, sugary and detached from kernel, firm and with a pleasant flavor. Suited also for dry preservation. Pollinator: President and Bluefre.

Ripens from end of August to early September.

Very large and dark colored fruit, yellow pulp.

Ripens in August.

European variety of plant grown locally in Italy. Medium size tree, fruits don’t easily fall from tree when ripe. Large size fruits have a blue-purplish color excellent flavor and ideal for preservs (syrups).

Ripens early September.

Very large and round fruit has a dark almost black skin, dense and yellow pulp. Pollinator: Sorriso di Primavera and Mirabolano rosso.

Ripens starting September 20th.
